Vanny Vabiola was born in the city of Padang, West Sumatra. He made his debut as a singer when he was still in elementary school, and started his career in 1991. Vanny Vabiola's first album, titled Panggang Maco, was created by Alegro. This song has been sung since 3rd grade. When he was in grade 3 of junior high school, he performed a song entitled 'Let the Wind Become a Storm. All the songs released are still in cassette format.

Vanny Vabiola's other songs include Rambaian Taduang, a duet with a senior singer from Padang, Boy Shandy. Apart from that, Vanny also had a duet with Ivan Fibra through the song Bayang Kasih in Malaysia.
