Being the only commercially successful VTOL (vertical take off landing) fixed wing aircraft to date, the first iteration of Sea Harrier (Hawker Siddeley Harrier) was introduced into the Royal Air force in 1969. Initially conceived as a second strike aircraft which can be launched from a tactical environment when the airfields are destroyed by a nuclear strike, its vertical take off capabilities helped it to transform into a multitude of roles (close air support, naval air defense and reconnaissance) and was inducted into the British Royal Navy, United States Marine Corps, the Indian Navy, and several others.
The Sea Harrier played a crucial role in the Falklands War to great success with 20 kills to 1 combat loss. It also saw combat in the Gulf war, Operation Enduring Freedom(Afghanistan, 2001), Operation Odyssey Dawn (Libya, 2011), and several other humanitarian operations.
This Flight Simulator by TeaPOT Games, is extremely physics accurate, and offers the primary flight controls and functions of the Sea Harrier such as Engine power, VTOL lever, roll, pitch, yaw, landing gear, brakes, aircraft carrier take off, missile locking and firing systems. It doesn't emulate the secondary and tertiary flight controls, due to the input limitations of mobile devices. Some liberties were taken with respect to missile locking, launching, and evading aspects of the game for a more cinematic and entertaining approach but the flight controls hold true to simulation. Unlike most Flight Simulator games, Sea Harrier Flight Simulator doesn't stop simulation upon coming into contact with a crash point, it continues into a post crash simulation. The dynamic crash simulation extend even for the landing gear.
15 missions take the player through the flight controls of the Sea Harrier and advance to more complicated objectives. A free fly mode offers the player to land anywhere he/she wants.
Settings screen enables features that provide more Flight simulation options such as landing gear strength and braking power.

Here's why I've uninstalled this game: 1. The controls response time is too slow, making it impossible to perform the required tasks. 2. The pop-up windows which are being used during the training levels, primarily in level 4, keep appearing just as I am within a few feet of landing, AND they cover the WHOLE SCREEN, causing me to crash upon closing the window. 3. Lastly, there's no way to recalibrate the device in the game.
The game is great! It's pretty realistic and is fun to play. I will come to the problems: 1) The graphics are great but they glicth from far away. 2) There is no 360° camera which is boring because you can't the detail on the aircraft and also I would like a cockpit view. 3) When you fire a missile you don't see it fire and the target magical gets hit by invisible force which looks unrealistic. I hope you pay heed to my review. Thank you.
It's good but needs a lot of practice. Training period is very short. Not sufficient guidance available on landing tips and comments. One learn by error. Gave become interesting as harrier is different kind of air craft . Those who have played other games find it difficult to shift to.harrier. thus some more guidance is req. More training missions before.earning wings. Graphics are fine. Overall a beautiful game.
As some else said, it really is like riding a leaf in the wind. The controlling of the aircraft by tilting the phone makes the flying feel quite sloppy. I have taken some regular flying lessons. So this feels really loose in responses to your inputs. A hud view might be nice also an kts indicator that turns the knots number from green to red if going backwards in the hover. Right now looks it the best Harrier simulator out there. I did land on the carrier, but was not a pretty landing :-)
I personally think this game can be improved a lot more. When taking off and landing there's no flaps controls or anything. I also think the graphics could be WAY WAY better."
